We here at coaster headquarters are extremely excited to announce that in our very first year we are close to being sold out! That’s right guys only 500 tickets left!!
We really want to say a huge thankyou to everyone that has bought tickets and for supporting this year’s Coaster Festival. So for all you who don’t have your tickets, hurry up before it’s too late! Also, there have been some updates in the transport section under trains!

Thought Coaster couldn’t get much better, huh?
Well, the folk at Coaster HQ have been working hard to bring you the ultimate Central Coast festival and are proud to announce yet another stage to the already super-sized event; the Coasto Bizzaro stage.

Be warned; the Coasto Bizzaro stage is not for the faint hearted.
Bent and Bendy, Sharp and Pointed, moving beyond skill into the realm of uneasy dreams and giddy nightmares, may we present The Opposable Thumbs. Combining the all the best and bizarre elements of burlesque, freak show, mind blowing stunts and super human feats, The Opposable Thumbs combine traditional sideshow skills and deliver them live to you in a contemporary Circus context.

But who are The Opposable Thumbs, we hear you say?

The Opposable Thumbs are:

Manx is a man of many bizarre talents, he is a sword swallower, flesh hook suspension master, fire eating juggler and acrobat. Manx is officially the first sword swallower
to ever swallow two completely separate 2000 volt glass neon tubes at the same time. Do not miss this death defying and once in a life time performance at Coaster!

Lilikoi Chaos is Australia’s very own hula hoop enchantress extraordinaire!
Watch her contort, bend and weave her way out of a straightjacket all while
hula hooping, of course! Lilikoi is also a human chopping board and is also quite
fond of playing with fire. You won’t believe your eyes when Lilikoi takes the
Coasto Bizzaro stage at Coaster!

Thought fish hooks were for fishing? Gordo Gamsby begs to differ. This has to be
seen to be believed! Catch Gordo challenging pain thresholds when he storms
the Coasto Bizarro stage. You’ll never look at the humble fish hook in the same
way after seeing Gordo at Coaster!
Opposable Thumbs breathe intoxicated life into circus and sideshow through an exploration of insanity and secret desires, pushing push the boundaries of circus and sideshow bringing you a whole new world of contemporary sideshow

Don’t think these guys have anything on your own bizarre talent? Find yourself demonstrating your talent to shocked and cringing friends at parties and BBQs? Always wanted to run away to join the circus, but just never knew what to pack? Coaster in conjunction with Sea FM are giving you the chance to perform your bizarre trick live on stage at Coaster! Contact Sea FM for details. The lucky winner will take the spotlight on the Coasto Bizarro stage at Coaster!

Just because Coaster is over, doesn’t mean the party has to be!
For all of you who really want to live the dream & flat out refuse to go home before the sun comes up, Coaster are having an after party just for you! The official Coaster after party will be held on Saturday September 20th at the Woodport Inn, Erina and will feature the mighty Horsell Common playing live in the front bar, as well as a bunch of great DJs pumping out the most brilliant of tunes till the wee hours! We can’t guarantee that any of the acts will be there but you can bring your wonderful memories of the first ever Coaster with you to help sass the night up and make it the perfect way to finish your Coaster experience.

Tickets are $20+bf and are available through Oztix or you can rock up and pay at the door. Doors open at 9:30pm and the party kicks on until 5am. See you there!

What festival would be complete without some crazy characters, cool comps and great incentives???

We here at Coaster Headquarters put our heads together to create some fantastic ideas to make this years Coaster go off with a bang!
So without further adue….

COASTER MAN
Our cape wielding daredevil mascot, he’s crazy he’s kooky and up for any challenge! Throughout the day see Coasterman undertaking death like jumps on his killer scooter, running through the crowd looking for his next thrill or later in the day catch a photo with Coasterman hanging in his lair!

ARTIST MEET AND GREET
With a killer line up for this years Coaster we want to give you the opportunity to get up close and personal with your favourite rock gods! This isn’t like your normal signings either! 50 lucky people will get a full half an hour with the band to do what you like….get a photo, an autograph, ask that question you’ve been dying to know (within reason of course!!) pretty much just hang out! Tickets are limited to just 50 people for each signing so get in quick on the day at our official Meet & Greet ticket booth to collect yours! Keep in mind the ticket booth will only be opened between 12.30-3.30pm so don’t miss out!! Also so everyone gets a chance to see the bands only one ticket will be given out at a time, so if you want to see more than one act you’ll have to rejoin the line. There will be 8 signings in total including; The Living End, Kisschasy, Something with Numbers, Cog, Blue King Brown, The Potbelleez, The Matches, and Bluejuice.

COASTER WITH THE MOSTER
Everyone knows about the “Tour De France” the leaders yellow jersey & how important it is if you are wearing it. Well we’ve decided to honour the brightest & best amongst our own by rewarding lucky punters with our own yellow jersey,

So, what does it mean and how does it work?

What does the yellow jersey signify in the Tour De France? The best.The person that all others strive harder to become. The Coaster with the Moster is the same person. The person we feel signify’s the Coaster spirit better than anyone else.
Our on the ground Coaster Crew along with the help of our very own Coasterman, will pick one lucky punter  and anoint them with our yellow jersey. You will be presented with the jersey whilst we take a photo of you then chaperoned backstage where you can watch bands from side stage!Not only that but we’ll supply you with Drink vouchers, food vouchers and a fab inaugural Coaster T-Shirt, before finding another lucky punter who will then take the coveted yellow jersey from you and so on and so on.

Headspace is a Government initiative dedicated to providing a broad range of support services and assistance for youth depression and mental health on the Central Coast. Headspace Central Coast provides an entry point for local youth to access a broad range of services which are available in their local community and also promote the need for understanding, acceptance and support for young people living with mental health problems and mental illness.

SECOND STAGE ANNOUNCED! - 5/8/08

We have got some updates for you……..

Initially we were just going to run with the one stage as it was our first year and our plan was to see how it would go. Well, I know you probably have to put up with events blowing their own horns about how good things are going, but in our case it’s the absolute 100% truth, when we say things are going magnificently. Our early bird tickets sold out in an hour & then when we started planning things out we felt that Coaster needed another stage.

And of course an extra stage will need some extra acts so we hunted down some of our favorite cool, up & coming, great live Aussie acts. But that’s not all, as we have received a heap of great feedback from the locals and we decided there are just too many killer acts up on the Central Coast, so we had to book a bunch of them for our new stage as well. So you will not only get the biggest acts in the land on the main stage but now Coaster will give you the best up and coming & local acts on our second stage as well. And we will be announcing it all next week, so if you haven’t gotten your ticket yet, it will give you a stack of brand new reasons to get on line and do so.

EARLY BIRD TICKETS SOLD OUT - 2/7/08

After a nervous nights sleep in anticipation of our first ever day of ticket sales we at Coaster Headquarters have been blown away with our first days ticket sales. Our Early Bird ticket allocation sold out within 20mins this morning! That’s right – 20 minutes.

The support has been overwhelming and we are well on our way to a sell out so we want to say a big thank you to everyone who has purchased their tickets so far and for those who haven’t we would suggest you get in quick as tickets are selling really fast!!!

CONFUSION - 3/7/08

There has been some confusion about the age restrictions for the coaster event over the last few days, so just to clear that up, anyone 15 years and under is required to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you have a legal guardian please contact us for further details prior to the event.
